Echo dcs-2500t howto replace “harness ring”?

Love the saw, but the harness ring attachment point broke and I got the new part and on one side there are two bolts but on the other it’s retained by plastic. It looks like you’re supposed to maybe pry on it but I’m afraid I’m going to break it. Has anyone done this replacement or does anyone know the trick or a link to the service manual?.

Thanks

paul

just replaced the ring on mine, it was missing the part you described. looks like it just popped out so i guess you could pry it out carefully. i used some glue to replace it.

yeah maybe I'll try again but it really felt like I was gonna break something ha ha

Solved: so all you have to do is lift the metal "ring" so it aligns with the slot and then push super hard on the plastic cylindrical part (no prying). I had to actually jab it with a pair of needle nose pliers like as if using a drift.

Then you align the new one inside the saw and you kinda have to do the same thing to get it to pop back- I kind of pulled and pushed at the same time. then install the other side by separating the two halfs of the saw slightly.

thanks to penn-holo my favorite saw shop in Schwenksville PA great guys there, took the time to grab one figure it out over the phone.
