One day my isc medium block slipt out of my hand and landed 30ft belove me on the ground. It looks allright. Can i use it without eny problem or should i check something?

30' onto grass, as long as it didn't pinball thru the tree branches, or hit a rock or similar when it impacted the ground, I would think it would be ok. Isn't Monkeylove our resident metallurgist? Let's see what he thinks.

Edit: PM'd Monkeylove about this thread

You could also just rapidly pull a few dozen feet of rope through it, if the axle is peened or there is some other problem, it will probably make discouraging sounds. Maybe try it on a piece you don't actually have to rig out.

All of the advice is absolutely perfect. If it landed soft and there are no obvious defects visible or while using it as a pulley then go for it. The drop from 30 feet onto grass is not anywhere near the kind of stress those things are made for. If the calculations are correct that pulley only saw about 600lbs at impact, nothing compared to dropping logs into it.

@Jeff
It's like tagging someone. They should get a notification that links them to this page....I think.

Let me try tagging myself to see what happens @John_KAYS ;)
It didn't work when I used my own user name...But I still think that's what it does. I could be wrong:rayos: Maybe it is reporting the user to the administration and now they will be banned from the site. :llorando: Who knows... I am going to keep using it though!

It worked as described when you tagged me. I received an alert that said "John_KAYS mentioned you in a post in the thread...". Cool! Never knew that one. So the way you used it above, @ML, was perfect. Got his attention, and did it faster than me PMing him. Thanks!

Yeah exactly, it is quite an easy way to bring something to someone's attention. Although if the user has that alert switched off in their notification settings they will not get the memo.

I understand your concern but after seeing first hand what those isc blocks will take when getting pounded during a rigging out session if it didn't hit a solid material either on the way down or on the ground and the thing sounds good then I think you have no worries there, next time use a groundie's head it is softer and the blood and brains will wash off easily in water if you get to them straight away.:)
(seriously your method of insuring that no -one stands under you while installing hardware in the tree is a very good practice and the way to be.)(y)
