Drills to run GRCS

Hey guys; Was thinking of purchasing a new drill,I would like to find something with enough torque to run my GRCS, do some cabling and bracing and to do some vertical mulching with.
I just really want to know what every body out there is using or what they would recommend.

We have a Stihl gasser and it works ok at best with the GRCS. It will lift about 200# for us with a block. It is nice for tree support systems and drilling holes for planting bulbs. We bought an electric drill for the GRCS, but we have not used it yet. My guess is that it will beat the gas drill.

Chris, I have herd allot of good things about the Hole Hawg.
but Norm has a good point about working around electrical hazards.
What about the larger gas one man auger drills.
I know that you would have to do some engineering to make a regular bit fit in them, because Ive only seen them with a non adjustable female pin style chuck.

stihl gas power sucks for the GRCS been contemplating buying the hole hawg.. or making a hydraulic drill with an old wood splitter and chipper feedwheel motor to crank it

Well I guess i was wanting one drill to do everything with; Don't think its going to work out that way.
So i ordered a Stihl BT 45 for now.
Then here in a few week or so might get one of those Hole Hawgs!!
Thanks 4 the help.

I have been using a Dewalt 10.5 amp drill just fine. It may not be the best, but it has done very well for us, when we need it.

Frankly, I would imagine the Hole Hawg would be awesome. And a gas drill would be nice so there is no issue of tripping over a cord.

My small 10.5 am drill may not have the power that a strong person has for the last leg of the lift, but it has the speed that a person doesn't have. And if we have a job with lots of lifting to be done, then it relieves the worker on the ground.

Not sure what is available new, but I finally found an awesome drill for this. It's an old Black & Decker 1405 with an aluminum case, 10 amps, 375 rpm's and reversible. An absolute power house with the GRCS. Runs great on a Honda EU2000i, which is about as quiet and portable as they come.

The Milwaukee Hole Hawg is a baby toy compared with the Milwaukee Super Hawg!

The Stihl gas drills suck. Echo was ok but didn't last.

Have to agree, looks like the Milwaukee Super Hawg or the Dewalt DW124K 1/2" 300/1,200 RPM 11.5 AMP are about the best ones readily available. Both have a slip clutch which should work well for GRCS use.
