Douglas-fir removal

Here's a Douglas-fir removal we did a few weeks ago. The tree had been dropping limbs and had sustained some root damage.

This tree had the largest limbs I've worked with on a Doug-fir. The longest were about 42' long and 16" diameter.

Wolfy fir, Gord! Nice work, as expected! Looks like you had room to free drop the wood....I'd be hoping so anyhow.

Thanks roger! I dropped most of the wood, there was a steep bank down to the house below the drop zone so i went smaller rather than bigger.

Did you get large enough sections to mill it?

We fell a spar, a bit over 30' I think. The customer was going to arrange to have it taken away and milled. Here's a vid.

I missed the actual falling part cause my card ran out of space.
