Does anybody have a pair of European style spikes for geckos?

I have a coworker wanting to try them out without having to drop 95. on a new set. Anyone got a pair they want to sell?

I decided to try them, myself... I like them, so not selling, but if it helps any... they're a little short on really thick barked stuff, like the first few feet of an ash or elm tree, but in all other respects I like them better than both the tree and pole spurs.

That's good to know Jeffgu. Does the shape change the way that you kick into the tree or, the pressure as you stand with with them in tree?

No, not at all. I don't have to stomp them in hard, or yank my knee joints apart trying to get them back out. With the tree spikes, that's a problem sometimes on some trees. They hold better in thick barked trees than the pole spikes. I have two sets of the climbers and was going to leave tree spurs on one, Euro spurs on the other. Now, I've decided to keep the Euros on one set and put the pole spurs on the other, as I still like the pole spurs best for stuff with thin bark, especially on smaller stems, like under six inches.

The first few feet of cottonweeds and elms, the Euros feel a little short, and I get a little kickout, but it really hasn't been an issue since you're past that really thick bark in a few feet, anyway. I just aim them between the furrows of the bark and they grab, but you gotta kind watch where you're sinking them in at, for the first six feet or so.

The Euros feel somewhere between the tree and pole spurs, to me. I really like the way your feet are against the tree with these. Also, they are more comfortable to climb on, for me. Lots more comfortable than the tree spurs.

I have a pair I will sell if you are still interested. In my opinion they work great in conifers and softer wood, but have less purchase on really dead hardwoods.
