89 years old. What a war horse. RIP. He casts a long shadow over American music, and so few are aware of him.

I was beginning to think he had no fans on the buzz. Just last year my wife and I were compiling a list of people we wanted to see before they passed away and Levon Helms and Doc were the top two.

I listened to a re-broadcast of an interview from '89, I damn near cried. I grew up on Doc Watson and never stopped loving him. I'm a little extra bummed because he was supposed to be at the Newport Folk Fest again this year.
