Dew rags

Just wondering what you folks consider the best dew rag out there and where I could get some.

I'm especially interested in hearing from the other follicularly challenged arbos on this one.

Well rf, I'll take some good natured heat on this for sure, but women's panty liners, with wings. Fresh ones of course, geez!

Incredibly absorbant, one way moisture mesh, light adhesive backing to wrap around the headband of your helmet, and actually very comfortable.

Once you've used them as sweatbands, you'd think they were designed for the purpose.

Let the slanging begin!

Rick, I believe it is "DO" rag, as in hair-'do.' Not for wiping the dew off your dome LOL.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I'm typographically compulsive.

(PS - Old-fashioned bandanas never go out of style.)

Well Northwind I'd like to "rag on ya" for that idea but if it works and the price is right what the heck. We used maxi pads to wrap female branches so pollination bags would seal and the branch could breath.
Also disposable diapers are the best for major bleeds in the first aid kit.

I'm a Harley rider and if you go into any motorcycle shop you will find a huge selection of bandannas. They have them that are designed to keep you cool and that go on easy. And you can come out really stylish if that's what you're in to.

Anyone use the HALO head bands? I'm thinking of trying one, but seems pricey compared to a bandanna.

And Rick-working Lake St. Catherine this week?

Bought a Halo headband several years ago. Mine had a 1/16" thk X 6" Lg, plastic strip that was supposed to keep the sweet from dripping down into your eyes.

Really don't like it; never wear it. The plastic impressed a deep groove in my forhead. Not comfortable.

If you want to try a cap-type, I'd suggest taking your helmet. Top seams can be very uncomfortable.

cycling shops have ones made for wicking sweat.

I did a search and WalMart carries DriSweat, a product targeted towards the Afromerican demographic. looks inexpensive.

FWIW, I've read that liners and on-integrated sweatbands degrade the PPE's efficiency on side strikes. might want to not wear one if you might take a swing....

under armor works well but I like my Bass Pro Redhead brand skull cap the best. Cheaper too, about half the price of the under armor.

I thought they were called batckins! I just use bandanas as well, I like that the bandana holds my dumbo ears in so I don't fly away when aloft.

Stay tied in,
X-maniac OG
