Bagster (as pictured above). Can get them from Lowes and home depot for $33.00

I thought of this post when my wife asked me to bring some firewood from the shed for the upcoming bad weather. I threw quite a bit of wood in the bagster and drove it to the side door beside the woodstove. Just folded the top over to keep snow off of the firewood. Worked great

Also check grain elevators if your in an agricultural area. They often have empty old grain bags that are about 36" square. Work real nice for debris clean up. I get them free from the local co-op
I have a client who works at a coop so I asked if she could get them. She said not, they need to be returned (I think it may be because the seeds are treated with pesticides), but her husband could get them from his work (ethanol plant). They dropped off 5 or 6 at my house a week later...2500 lb bags that had sodium bicarbonate in them (baking soda).

They are nice, but a pain to load. Tree Stuff makes a nice tarp out of similar material, but they are expensive and (shockingly ) out of stock. I've had one for several years and it has held up well...even with a hole worn through the middle from being drug, it still holds a lot of weight (I use it for dirt when planting trees and pick it up loaded with pretty good weight). MUCH easier to load than a bag and with the 4 corner loops you can pick it up just like a bag.

I can see that with the seed bags and pesticides. I think these had some sort of feed in them.

There’s a cement co. In my neighborhood that has the same white bags with handles. The binder bits are shipped in them. They do not reuse, simply throw away. Like previously mentioned, they do need a slight modification. With a good scissor and speedy stitcher, you can custom make a nice tarp!

Just a naive question about the bags: how long does it take you to stuff the bag and get the stuff out of the bag? Is it worth it?

When your working a good distance from the truck and your doing your final rake it is 100% worth it. Throw that lowes bag on the arbor trolley and attach the straps to the orange extenders. You can roll your rankings from pile to pile... then to the truck, without raking the whole path to the truck. Dumping it out isn't to bad but it depends on your setup. A trailer with ramps is easy enough to then tip it over similar to a wheel barrow. A 42" deck height is a little different if you load it too heavy. I used to (still have it but never use if anymore) have a winch on the chip box that I could lift logs and debris bags up into the chip box. Now I can use the mini.

Bagster.
With a mini and a bmg, it doesn't take long at all. The bags are about 4x8' and 2.5' high sides (but you can go way over that....fuller the better for carrying with the mini). Once you get it to the chipper just use the bmg to grab 1 or 2 grapples out of it...shoving them straight in the chipper. At that point 2 guys can just about throw the bag on the chipper feed table and dump it (stop feed wheels first though).

Bag last longer than a tarp, toughness wise.

Bagsters are also great for loading the shavings from stump grinding if you don’t have a dump trailer. I occasionally have to use my utility trailer. I have a guy with a tractor to unload me at the dump. I recently had my Bobcat guy pick up a bag that was probably a year old and loaded into his dump trailer. It had holes in it all over including a 12” tear near the support sling that was loaded down with wet shavings and dirt. Amazingly it held up!

We have a few of these tarps and they work great! I bought some right after they were back in stock. They must have went out of stock and came back in.

Bagsters are the way to go for sure. We bring em straight to the curb and load them with our loader truck. We have a special hook on one grapple and post on another so when you open the grapple it holds one strap and let’s go of the other. It causes the Bagster to dump without manually having to do it.
