Cyber Bully or just plain A-Hole?

Now I'm laughing out loud at "buger joint"

I think that's going to require a definition too.

In the meantime, Stefan, for cryin' out loud, do something about those smudge marks.

I have Daniel here with me now . . . he got in very early this morning, after driving all night through the mountains of western Colorado in a blind stupor, in what he described as a "tormented rage, like what the Coyote endured at the hands of that goddamned running bird." He kept driving west, through Moab and the canyon country before he called me looking for refuge.

He spent most of this morning threatening defenestration, which is odd, as my house is a typical two-story brick rambler, but I moved him into the basement as a precaution anyway. It didn't take long before he got into the refrigerator and made himself a sandwich, a huge multilayered thing that he crushed together with his bare hands before trying to eat. He only got through half of it before pulling out pieces of salami and asking "why the f*ck can't EZ understand the mechanics of this cut?"

I knew it didn't make sense, nothing he was saying did, but neither did his ghastly presence at my house seem reasonable . . . he is asleep now, snoring loudly and uttering horrible things in fits and starts. I have bids to go do, among other errands; I'll check back later . . .

That is bordering on be-smudgery.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's not so serious. Borderline be-smudgery is just distasteful finger play.

I think actual be-smudgery is illegal in many of your least prurient states already, is it not? Not so much here. We are a generally unruly and heathen bunch.

But polite.

Damn polite.

I got home awhile ago and found him awake, in his underwear, sitting on the couch eating ice cream out of the box. He was watching women's gymnastics, the Big Ten Championship, and didn't want to be disturbed. I told him I was recording the Louisville-Florida game and to not tell me the score, but he interrupted me and said he already erased it and he "hates the Cardinals, and everything else about that f*cking place." And then added, "even the Ohio River turns dirty there"

I'm in my office now, wrapping up a few emails and quotes for clients. I have a dinner to attend tonight. I'm not sure how to intervene here, but I think I'll leave it alone for now . . . I can hear him in the living room talking to himself and running through the channels. He wants to find the HD OnDemand listings for Ax Men. . . .

That's sad...I think I will drink excessively tonight in memorial. I remember when Ted opened the place up.

Yeah...7 to 1, good thing the drinking age was 18 and there was still a pub on campus when I was there.

PSC, Where the men are men and the women are men too, and the sheep run scared. That was the saying in my day.

I don't think Danny is participating because he is the ultimate wordsmith and he is laughing at our limited vocabulary. He's probably been on the cover of Linguist Magazine multiple times.

Frax- buggery is illegal in many of our states. Be-smudgery carries a penalty of super secret double probation. Very easy to confuse the two.

It's clear my rudeness has driven him to the edge, a place that resorts to hatred of a geographical region.

You must nurse him back to health. Start by asking if he knows anything about Feng Shui. He freaking is the master at this stuff. Say you were thinking about putting the mirror to the right of the front door - he'll lose his marbles.

At this point he has to feel like he has some kind of self worth. An ounce of manliness, which is tough considering he emailed my company complaining that I was mean to him on the internet (pretty much the most un-manly things you can do these days as a guy).

Keep the faith, Arch.

EZ I cannot agree with you more. When I read that Dadio e-mailed your employer the first thing I said was WTF. Who does that but a friend of mine just told me at a kid's party this afternoon that some dude did that to him shortly after starting a new job. Don't know if some men are loosing their " BALLS " these days? 2012 I guess.

Yeah he lurching around biting his nails just soaking all this up. Most likely going to show ( cut and paste) all of this to e-mails to send to all are employers. He's lurking thinking of us as uneducated cavemen, and cave women who don't even know the word be-smudgery. We heard that not much is not legal in the north country Frax. Thats why we like Canada!

"FYI,
Your BCMA Steve Zimmerman has been posting a lot of rude and derogatory comments online, specifically about me, and some others on treebuzz.com. His language, personal attacks, blatant lies and misrepresentation of fact, and juvenille humor have occurred to me and others as rude and unbecoming of the industry and your business in particular. I have heard form many others, especially foreigners that they simply cannot believe this type of rude and distasteful behavior is tolerated on the american boards. You seem to be running a good business. It would be a shame to let his needless ugliness be-smudge your online reputation, or otherwise reflect badly on the business which you have worked so hard to build.

Sincerely,
daniel murphy

I wanted to re-analyze this tattle post one more time. Dadio mentions others, including "foreigners" who I have posted derogatory comments about.

Is anyone aware of another asshat that I give a hard time to? I think its just Dadio, but my needless ugliness might be be-smudging the whole picture. It sounds like Daniel wrote this email with a "coalition of the willing" who are apparently mute at this time. In 5 pages of responses, it seems like Daniel was misrepresenting some facts, or at the least posting blatant lies about me.

I wish he had the balls to join in this discussion and let me know who the foreign legion is that I have been offending, cause really, I'm not buying it.

"I have heard form many others, especially foreigners that they simply cannot believe this type of rude and distasteful behavior is tolerated on the american boards."

If a comma is inserted after 'foreigners' I am pretty sure that what he's referring to is his reception at non-US forums. At one time there was a vid thread on TreeBuzz and the same one on ArbTalk. In the thread he made a point on the AT forum to crosslink his reception here at TB. The receptions were very different. When I read the thread I took away a very culturally different response. The toleration and acceptance of critique by 'the authorities' in the US is much different than in other places.

Freedom of speech in the United States really only applies to 'the Government' but most Americans take that to mean any sort of censorship, criticism or control of what they way is unconstitutional. Wrong.

The government of TreeBuzz is really a pretty benign dictatorship controlled by Mark and I. 12 years ago when we were discussing our editorial policy we agreed that pretty much anything goes. We'd let people take their hits for what they say...to a point.

Over the years we've blocked a few people. Not without going through months of agony that is never visible. During those times the person has always been asked to tone down what they were saying and get along with the rest of the people here. When their behavior caused more disruption than forwarding...they got booted.

'Foreigners' sure doesn't sit right with me for some reason. I sometimes think that I'm a foreigner living in Texas because I'm a Native Minnesotan.

I specifically focused on the term "foreigners" because I think thats the way Dadio sees them. He needs to teach them all about dropping huge, beautiful, healthy American trees.

SZ

Well I am a foreigner here on the buzz and in no way have I felt offended by anything that has been said to me here on the buzz. I take what people say as being " not personal " and move on. If it was personal well that's at them, and it's significance in my life is miniscule at best.

Tom, this forum is top notch and is run better than any other forum I have ever been on and with all my hobbies I have been part of a bunch of them! We are all grown men here so it is good that we are allowed to handle our issues like men.

On most other forums it is like all the moderators are on power trips and feel the need to control EVERYTHING. Maybe they just don't have any control over their lives so the little power they are given online goes to their head.

Anyways, sorry for getting off topic and be-smudging the thread. I just wanted to let you know I think you do a great job running the site.

Arch,

When he is sleeping again, could you please sneak out and rummage through his vehicle.

Please find the voodoo dolls of EZ and me and perhaps other buzzers.

Please pull out any pins you find in them, then take the dolls and store them in a hidden, warm, dry place in your house.

I've been quite sore lately, so I think he left a few pins stuck in my doll.
