Crane practice for crane heads

No we didn't. Starting to feel comfortable in NY work wise. I get called to go to work. Contract climbing, and sub contract roof jobs. Everyone we know is here including families. I'm mostly the sole provider of our income so the comfort zone is big, even though I hate the politics. Looking at 125 acres with old farm house needing rehab .... see what happens ....

Treevet are you running SRT now? Or still DRT? I'm still DRT with a HC and sometimes I like to keep it simple and natural crotch it with a Blake's. I prefer it on small, fast, and easy jobs.

No not srt but play with the bone at times. Been on the ZZig for since it came out and run 2 in a big spread tree after going up on the Wraptor on biggies. I would def cut out my anchor line on a td as I get to terrorizing the tree in a haze sometimes. I just hate the srt anchor even on prunes...got a short attention span. Still tie the occasional taughtline (hey I climbed on it almost 40 years daily) on the crane hook and wraptor tie in.

I always feel the same with removals and thats what 90% of my work. I haven't given SRT a fair chance yet. I have a ZZ on a dedicated yale. I love my HC on blue streak 16-strand. I also fitted it up with x-rings (also called x tender). Super smooth!

What part of New York

I'm in Delanson. Just outside of Duanseburg. 20 mins to Schenectady and about 40 mins to Albany. The acreage is also close by, making an ideal base for tree buiss. :D
Disregard above Post.

I spent 3 months in Ticonderoga this spring at the Paper Mill, and it is absolutely beautiful up there.

From what I understand, the land prices are reasonable as well, between Ti & Glenn Falls.

There looks to be some competition in that area, as I noticed advertisements of a few serious looking Arborist Companies.

God That is Beautiful Country.

I lived in a little town called Wyoming, near Batavia about 80? miles east of Buffalo as a kid and it is etched in my mind how beautiful it is up there. I miss it all the time.

Yes this is a geographically a gorgeous state. @hsell and @treevet, if your ever in the area look me up on the buzz. That goes for any other buzz members also.
Its hard to leave somewhere called "home" for the past 45 yrs. I might stay put in NY.
