Turns out my boss did have vid of the crane removal. Thanks Matt.
I don't remember it being so breezy. Climb up, attach choker, zip down, cut somewhere low down and repeat about 10 times. Fun couple of hours anyway for first time at it. (Its the same one I had the still images for).

Crane removals are not done very often here.

I've only got a few crane jobs (boom truck actually) under my belt so far - none that big yet. It is quite a different experience!

Your operator seems to like over tension every pick.

Were those lines denergized? If they weren't then your op has nerves of steel to work that close on such a windy day.

Those lines were energized Classic. I did a climb to clear one limb that was fairly close before the crane arrived. But it outside the 10 foot range by a fair bit. But we wanted it to be gone before the crane got there. There's a silly vid of that too.
Few crane jobs happen here. Few jobs warrant it. Crane ops are going to be maybe even less experienced than we are with crane/tree work. Some guys won't do crane stuff because it is hard to find a crane guy that has a lot of tree experience.
