It doesn't seem like the operator had much experience, it also seems like he was running with the LMI in override or with it shut off altogether like treehumper pointed out.

I know if I was setting something in the backyard like that I would be setup very close to the garage and I would have enoungh boom out before picking the hot tub rather than extending under load.

And of course I would check the load chart first.

It just didn't sound good from the get go. Oh and it was in Minneapolis that this occurred.

to many things wrong with that video. should have set up closer to the house . looked like he was scopen out with a load on with a low boom angle.i mean i could be wrong but thats what it looked like to me .

Wow what a chucklehead. Sad seeing accidents that could so easily be avoided. That opp is definitely not cut out to do tree work.
