Convince me to go SRT/SRWP

So ive been climbing for a few years now, learned on climbers companion, and my mentor was a fairly newschool climber that climbs DdRT split tail hitch climber. He got good before the SRT craze i guess you could call it, and always told me to keep things simple.

So i climb with 2 identical vt dmm hitchclimber setups on 1/2 with a rook on my bridge and i love it. The fluidity of changing anchors and the 2to1 seems perfect to me. Most trees i work on are easily climbable, and the prunes that do pop up with long ascents i RADS up and transition right to DDRT on the same line.

I do want to atleast try some SRT tho, i like the idea of the rope wrench, you can switch back to DDRT if you need to easily, and i like the unicender as a standalone device, and of course i wanna try out the new akimbo...but im kinda set in my ways and i know it will slow my production down while im trying it out a new system

So what do you guys think? Change my mind or DDRT4lyfe im all ears
Know both systems and when to use them. I see guys get stuck using only one system. They both have their place. IMO generally big tress SRT smaller trees that don't need a throw ball are DDRT. Always evaluate and try new systems, rigging and climbing and don't get stuck using one thing every time. Bulldog bone on SRT, hitch climber on DDRT for me. Good to know and practice all systems. Even tauntline hitch because using the basics will improve your technique on new systems. In the last few years I have taken to SRT with a canopy tie for removals because I can go up and down quicker. Don't stagnate.

The best part about most of the newer srt devices is that they do doubled rope just as well. So any given climb I can use it both ways. The determining factor is usually what anchors I want, or can get, or how many I will need for the work...
But the rope wrench is usually the entry level tool because you just add it to what you already have and it does not do doubled rope. No big deal just take it off. I think the biggest thing for OP is getting off RADS and starting to rope walk. That is the main selling point that I see. Cuz rope walking roolz and puts you in the tree ready to work faster than anything besides a wraptor or crane.

"...strictly a one-owner setup... previous owner was a little old lady from Pasadena who only used it a few times to lynch her four previous husbands... we can throw some WD40 on her and have it ready to roll in ten minutes... you buy here, you pay here... just over the bridge on 49th Street... bring the wife, bring the kids, bring the neighbor's wife... free hot air balloon rides for the kiddies..."

How the hell do 2.5 million used car salesmen manage to sound exactly like the same guy wearing a different suit (but all made out of old seat covers from a Buick) and spew the same damn bullshit without missing a beat? There must be some secret training center, somewhere.

I SRT mainly using a wrench. DRT on really quick small zone work. Everythings been said already, so I'll add this. If you like use 2 systems for work positioning, you may end up cussing your wrench. Without a full load, the wrench itself has way too much friction and you will end up having to release your hitch, then pull your wrench down, then repeat until you get to your position. Try doing that crawling out on the top limbs on a 100 foot oak. You'll say a few cuss words before its over. But getting up to those limbs is joy!

Or you could make a wiser choice and get the HH2 and have no such issues. Nothing to take on or off when going from an MRS to an SRS. It feels and works exactly the same as what you are already used to, and it doesn't put a bend in your rope to create the needed friction control for working on a stationary rope.

I used DdRT/MRS for most of my climbing career. I know what it can do. Since the advent of multisenders that are capable of efficiently working off a stationary line, I can count the number of times on one hand that I will use DdRT in a year.

For best dual SRT dDRT I agree, hitchhiker is the way to go. use a rigging paw on your bridge. Attach HH to outside hole, and switch to double rope just by clipping into the close hole.

Not quite as slick as hc pulley for tending, but pretty darn good
