Contract Tree Climbers Association (CTCA)...

Hi guys. I'm listening. I'm always interested in new ideas with a chance to grow or progress. What "specifically " are you asking for? I'm sure I can do it. We have an audience, a great group, and plenty of Web space.

One thing I also see here is a need for feedback and a rating system. If I hire a "contract climber " I need to be able to evaluate that individual for others to see.

If you want to put a "Tech Person" or whatever "right kind" of person on it Mark maybe we could come up with some money to pay for it.

I think this is so much the right thing at the right time.

Ryan,
I almost always love your input. I believe I could learn a lot from you or someone with your experience. As a matter of fact your posts got me interested in the idea of contract climbing as a viable option versus owning a company.
To some degree I agree with your statement but... The reality is you live in an area with a large market... Trees + money + dense population = lots of work and good money for those with high aptitude.
Not everyone has that market though. I live in an area where few companies care about anything except " getr dun!" And love hiring tweaked out ex loggers who will work for next to nothing

What about a new section here dedicated to this as a start? You could all just post your availability and such and people could thumb through when they need a contract climber? Would that work?

The people that were working the contract climber's database thread were talking about including all phases of sub contracting i.e. stumpers, chippers, cranes, air spades etc.. Mark, if you recall Bob Phillips was involved with some type of coop group. Each participant had a needed tool or ability that allowed each member to offer all phases of tree care to their customers. Contract Contractors Cooperative...

Is this database done yet? I am always looking for a disposal guy (truck and chipper) in my neighborhood. After hours or weekend kind of stuff. Zip 19001

He doesn't even need to elaborate! I have seen the exact same thing more than once. All the new gear doesn't mean squat if you can't use it to climb well.
I would say its beyond climbing. I've met people who can climb fast but don't work well, i.e. safely, smart, efficient. If someone is being "rated", they will be judged on working with people/ crews.

Still looking to bring in contract climbers(full time also avail). We are looking to add 3 climbers additional to our crews. Come in for the day, week or month. Message me for details.
