Here is my rig.

2006 Dodge Sprinter.

All saws in aluminum tool box and gear in totes on shelves. Around a half mile of rope and more depending on the job.

Where's the chemical toilet? The fridge and the microwave? Jeez, kinda roughing it, aren't you?!? Looks like you've got just about everything else in there, very nicely organized.

Sweet setup!
I rarely sleep in there though I usually have a change of clothes and a sleeping bag and inflatable mattress. Occasionally I bring a compost toilet with me which is nice to have. No need for chemical toilets when we have endless amounts of sawdust. The pee bottle is always in there though. That often comes in handy in the city.

I keep debating whether or not to really finish the interior or whether to leave it very utilitarian and spartan. I like the functionality of it but having it be a bit more cush would be nice for long road trips.

Hey, Ryan! If you don't mind my asking, how do you gain access to all of the gear on the shelving with the saw box in front of the double doors? It looks like you might have a sliding door on one of the sides of the van, but it looks like it might be blocked off, too. That might only leave you able to get in via the front entry doors? I know it's hard to fit everything in the photos without having a super wide-angle lens to work with.

Oh, I just looked more closely. It looks like you only have one short section of shelving on the passenger side of the van, which would leave room for entry via a sliding door or suchlike on the passenger side of the van.

I like the labels on all of the small totes on the shelving. You are one well organized dude. Beautiful setup.

Tim

There is a big sliding door. Organization and labeling is key so when I'm in the tree and need something people can find it in an instant. Even if they haven't worked with me at all.

How do you guys deal with fumes from saws and fuel? I feel like it could get pretty bad especially in the heat of the summer.

I ask as I'm consider a van as my next vehicle so it can double as a road trip van on the week ends.

Also wondering if anyone tows with their van. I have a 12 foot dump trailer I would need to yank around on occasion.

Some pretty sweet set ups in this thread.

Thanks,

Thanks,

My aluminum box for my saws is now mounted on the hitch behind my van. It makes it so everything has to go in and out of the sliding door but then no more gas fumes in the rig which was pretty unbearable during the summer. Probably lost a few years from doing that...

If I went the contract climber route back in 2012 I would have done a van. I still look at them today and think, how could we use one of those. I'm a Nissan guy so I occasionally look at the NV3500. I like their passenger version and the commercial one with the high top.
