Coming late to the crane party

Here is a job I did recently, we utilized a 70 ton crane to lift a half dead hybrid cottonwood out of this backyard. The center of the crane was about 100' from the center of the tree. Even with the big crane we had to keep our picks below #4500.

On the job at 8:00, crane set up at 9:00, crane folded up and bullshitting on the curb 11:30. Hat's off to Chad and his crew at Bees and Trees, Longmont CO.

I love this stuff, I'd like to do more of it but as it stands I get one a month or so.

I liked the sound of the equipment, strangely soothing, so I added no music.

Hope you enjoy, please give me some feedback! Thanks.

Nicely done! I was just thinking today how much I miss crane work. That boom was really low. Were your brush picks single choked, or center and balanced? All the picks came off really smoothly, except maybe that last brush pick :X3:. Looked like you were getting it to stand up...? Loved the halo of sun hiding you while cutting, cool natural effect. Didn't miss the music.

Brush picks were single choked, for the most part they were stick straight and close to vertical.

I botched the notch and ran out of room trying to stand that last one up!

Yeah the sun created some cool effects for sure.

Thanks man!
