Coffee Coffee Coffee

Recipe time

Years ago a buddy of mine would make a concentrated coffee syrup. I've read the cold brew on the counter versions.

Still, in the end they aren't as concentrated as his

He would take the jar out of the fridge, pour a couple of tablespoons into a mug topped off with hot water. This is not the 3 or 4:1 ratio of the recipes I read.

I don't care to turn my kitchen counter into a lab experiment.

Does anyone have a concentrate ratio for the brew then a ratio of water to concentrate that they like?

I don't drink coffee I drink tea.

Hey ClimbingMonkey, is that Ludlow, UK? I passed thru there in May 1998. Neat place, loved the castle. I was visiting a friend not far from there in Bewdley. Live stateside now and have been corrupted by these Yanks into a morning coffee habit but still have tea the rest of the day and observe tea time mid-afternoon no matter what I am doing (it is devilishly tricky with the good china up a tree but at least I don't climb every day). Let's see, I think there is a Ludlow this side of the Pond also, back East somewhere? Maybe that's you?

One pound coarse grind dark roast per gallon of water. Don’t stir, place in a warm dark area for 24-36 hours. Break the crust with a wooden spoon, let settle for 1-2 hours and pour into glass jar, straining through a filter is optional. Some say to cut it 1:4 coffee:water I say 4:1..

@JD3000 has a system for dealing with that... he stops by the post office twice a week to look at all the pictures of him on the bulletin board, and to read the list of crimes underneath them.

I was once asked by the police to put my animal training skills to work teaching a bunch of farm animals to count. When I asked them why the hell anyone would want to do that, they told me the goats, sheep and pigs needed a way to pick Jason out of a police lineup... the members of which would be wearing placards with numbers on them.
What exactly are you trying to say here mr gu. Are we talking beasteality here. Have you no shame JD?

He's an animal lover, man. Multiple convictions.

I forgive him for all of his faults, though... because he knows where I hid the bodies.

And your recipes.

People would riot if they knew what you were serving at 4th of July.

Extra rare lamb chops were a hit though weren't they?
