close lightning strikes

still in the land of big Cotton trees here with monsoon flow starting up. Every time I buckle my harness it starts up. Yesterday I was just starting up in the bucket and a big close one came down to ground. We dusted off immediately and one the way home passed a bunch of emergency vehicles. A woman got struck on the golf course a mile or less from where we were. I don't have a link but there is brief description in the Durango Herald should anyone be interested.
Bottom line is that I felt like we were right on getting out of there but it's scary how that stuff just creeps right up on ya in the mountains.

Mountains, praries, residential streets or the middle of the ocean...

Never wait until your counting distance using sound lets you believe the strikes are coming soon - they have a way of hitting long before the storm comes.

Ask Nathan!!

I wonder what they were all doing hanging out at the fence together like that? Gabbing about the weather, no doubt!

Well, MB, you know the saying:
The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence... ahemm....except in this case!
