Climber Down

yet another derailed thread... and at the expense of an injury to one of our members. It's like we need to wear our sh*tkickers just to get around here.

I know 3 year olds that aren't as socially retarded.

Get well MB, keep kickin' ash

Hey, that auction for the 036 is still going on over at the Tree House. Its a nice way to help a fellow climber out and get a money making tool at the same time.

I hate to say it, but it's like listening to the highschool girls my son is friends with. Amazing how you all have the energy to act like this. I guess that "Through diversity professionalism shines" won't really work here, huh?

Mark is the voice of wisdom!
Wow when you all start posting at WTS I hope you can all show some respect!
What is the deal is it the same as like when you out with your girl and some other chick on the other side of the club hits on you or gets you attention.
MB / ekka both with arbor sites and sounds worse than teenage peer BS!
I took invitations to join all these sites and was proud of it until now.
We can show our education and class better than this.

It amazes me everyone has soon forgotten Mbs rants about "just cut it" "i be doing this along time" and spreading bad work practices.

After all these boards are meant for learning!i guess MB had to learn the hard way,the story of his life.

Now that is a very true saying Ekka. I agree 100%

I know everyone can learn from MB's mistake and it did take a lot of courage to post about his accident. I'm sure he's more pissed at himself than we are at him.

I'm a thinking individual. I decide what's right for me, but I listen to most everyone. If we could avoid all accidents by certain work practises, than discussion would be moot. Most things in life are learned the hard way, it's the severity that matters. MB- I don't always agree with you- but that doesn't mean I wish you ill. Hope you get to feeling better.

Marc

Your giving them too much credit, highschool girls act more mature. It must be something in the water down in OZ that makes them act this way.

You'd find as a contract climber the pressure is always on for speed. Many employers perhaps no longer climb and just care about the money, they don't really care what you do as long as the chit is on the ground fast. They may over book work and the days starts of with "once you've knocked this one down we have another job where a cranes arriving at noon so ya better get cracking" ...

... and in the day after day, year after year grind of this you get seasoned and fast but at a risk. The risk is like gambling, you may win in the early days but you if you dont walk away with your profits the losing times will come.

Some stats revealed recently showed a lot of chainsaw injuries came from under 3 year users and then a whole hoard over 15 year users. I don't have access to that info but sure cant forget it. The safety people were most intrigued with the older group, simply the odds coming back around (the losing streak).

To have cleared the area, taken spikes off, got a different saw, put a half hitch in the sling as well as a prussic all would have added time. Time that although is trivial in the grand scheme of things becomes a pressure cooker in your head, you need to control the pace, you are the man at highest risk and most difficult to replace.

I sincerely wish you get better fast and climb soon as I don't believe your passion is for anything else. I just also hope this incident changes your perspective of what you can achieve with the many people you influence, that was my goal. Sometimes tragedies bring benefits ... in my world doing it right is a healthier lifestyle than doing it fast.

But when you can do both then you are the MASTER.
