Climber/Arborist Position

Fed Tree Dr,

It's nice to see another fed climber on here. I'm currently with the USDA-APHIS-PPQ inspecting trees for ALB in New Jersey. Do you have any more info about the job, besides what's on the avuedigitalservices site? Is there any envir. differential/hazard pay?

I am the supervisor at the U.S. Capitol Grounds and have tried to get hazard pay for years but our agency refuses. The job is a full time position with great benefits. The website explains most of the details, but I will answer any specific questions you have. For the last few years all positions must be posted and applied for online only. So I am posting this position at various sites to get the best applicants. Brian I see your work involves ALB, is the position temporary or permanent?
 
My position is a term position (13 months). I would have to re-apply after 4 years, I think.

I get hazard pay for the whole day if I climb to a height of 50'. The pay is time + 1/4 and I can get overtime on top of that (when budget allows it).
