Clam trucks

Anyone out there that have switched from using chippers to clams? I am looking into the idea of using one clam to support two crews for debris removal instead of running two trucks two chippers. Any ideas, thoughts or experiences are greatly appreciated!

On residential we use just clam trucks. We have three monster trucks with pup trailers. It works out well as long as you have a place that will take brush and not chips. We are lucky and have city dumps that recycle it. In my opinion it's great to eliminate the dangers associated with chipping. On the other hand if you've got two crews are they both in close proximity as far as working or are you going to have to have one guy driving a lot of miles to pick up brush. It works great for logs as well as brush is the big thing. No more packing wood by hand and having to cut it small enough to handle. It's a great option plus ours are justified by using them for storm clean up. I would say weigh your options and see if it's economical.
