Hey Folks,

Does anyone know anything about a 1996 Vermeer 1220 Auto Feed (4 cyl. gas). I'm considering the purchase for my side business, but I'm wondering how much life it has in it with 1300 hours. It seems to be in good shape, well maintained. Priced at $5,000 by the way. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like a good deal. Maintenance is more important than hours and mechanical things either are working or they are not....new parts can fail quickly while old ones continue to function. There is no way of knowing what will fail when. FWIW the rule of thumb is to regard one hour as equivalent to 30 miles on a vehicle odometer. That would make the 1300 hours on the meter equal to about 39000 miles-hardly high usage on the engine.
