Chipper winch line

What's your attachment point look like? At work we had an eye splice around a thimble going through a fixed spring loaded hook. That line finally snapped so I attached the rope with a bowline through the hooks fixed hole. Clean and simple, no extra parts, not bulky and easy to snake through brush and under logs. My coworker decided to change everything and had a cable clamp bigger thimble attached to a locking clevis and a weak carabiner. I was like WTF! Needless to say his fix is no longer at the back of the chipper lol What do you guys think?

I use anchor bend instead cause it'll go in and out of the winch rollers on a more ark, bowline can get sucked in and get stuck. I'm all about steel hooks with no extra stuff like the thimble or the huge bulky hooks that has a pivot point
