Chipper pressure question

We recently, maybe 2-2 1/2 months ago, had our WC17 serviced and had parts of the hydraulic system replaced, the pressure control valve, and valve that controls forward/reverse ( the block that the fluid flows through , name escapes me) anyways. When we first got it back the pressure had to be adjusted to get the infeed rollers running right and pulling in wood properly, well on our last job, the rollers are suddenly very sluggish again, struggling to pull in even small stuff ( we also had a new stator roller motor put in)
What I'm wondering is, do you have to adjust the pressure after some time/ does it drop over time/ break in? Also the fluid moving through the block has a bit of a whine to it, is that normal. Never gave much of this a thought before, but we've been paying more attention to it. Always greased all other parts properly. The problems we had that got it to the shop were there when we bought it, they just wore out.

You need to plumb a pressure gauge into the system and set the hydraulic system at 2,500psi. That is for a Bandit 250. Your WC may be different but probably not. This setting makes a huge difference in feed roller performance. Over pressure of course is a very bad thing.

I'm not as familiar with the WC. Does it have a direct detent valve? It doesn't take much to clog up one of those.

Bandit uses a positioning switch that can go out as well. It's a cylindrical looking metal piece typically held on with two 6mm hex bolts. It will be directly linked to the handle in some fashion. If you have good reverse pressure, it could be one of the bearings has jumped out and preventing the switch from fully engaging.

any luck on this? I am not currently having problems with mine, but information on the woodchucks seems to be a little scarce. Just curious what the solution was in case I run across this with my wc17 at some point in the future.

Thanks,
Justin

Ended up changing hoses and tightening pump belt real right to specs Altec set. Test run was fine so far I'll never bring it to Altec again ridiculous slow service and questionable billing practices dudnt cover current repair under warranty because it was "same issue worked in 2st time , but different part" have no problem paying for parts, have a problem them not diagnosing it right first time, but telling us it was fixed we're part time, we essentially used it on 12 jobs over a few months ( I was also down with a back injury) so in reality the "repair" lasted less than 2 weeks. Now we brought it back for what was supposed to be a week and they had it for a month. They run the bill up on things too tried charging us $200 for a 6" wire replacement that we told them we could do, literally a 5 minute job, they billed it at 1 1/2 hours. That we got taken off, but their excuse for it was what got us. " sirru, we're used to big companies just paying the bill" essentially saying they gouge or jack up the price on shit. If this repair is no good, we're going to Vermeer, let them fix it, bill Altec. Vermeer gas already saud they'd work on it of its something we can't do it ourselves .
