I’m in Ontario Canada, and I was ordering a new set for my 12xp and the bill estimate was literally triple from my invoice in June last year! Wow! That’s a lot! (I should have ordered hundreds and resold I could have retired selling them lol!!

Anyway, anyone have a good lower cost source in Ontario for me? That I could cje out?

Thanks

I keep a year's supply on hand. 8 sets. They get changed every 4-6 weeks depending on what I've been chipping. Closest place (only place?) to get them sharpened is over an hour away and has a one week turnaround. It's hard to get down there during the busy season, so I just take them all to be sharpened in winter when I'm sitting on my ass anyway.

That’s basically what I want to do: on that note anyone in Ontario here that knows about a place that can sharpen ALL my knives to the same size…so that anvil adjustments can be minimized (I’m sure most understand why that’s important on a drum chipper

Still looking for a place that has good prices on knives, if anyone knows? Thanks

Try Knife Source LLC out of South Carolina. Not sure about shipping to Canada tho...
They manufacture for lots of different brands, cut out the middle man.

$54.00 before now $150 each
That is quite the jump. I paid about $125 per for a set of two SINGLE edged blades for years. That and there are an odd shape and it’s about 2:3 they come back sharpened right.
Did the math and it was just cheaper and easier to buy new vs sharpening (had to pay shipping).

Where did you order yours from in the USA?
Cal line they're a bandit dealer, paid 105 each for my last set of knives, pretty sure they were about that as long as I've had the chipper which is 3+ years. It's a 95xp but the blades are like 10.5" double sided and half inch thick.

Are you a victim of Vermeer pricing (w Sherril)? Universal Field Supplies used to be much better but drifted upwards too. Don't know if they carry what you need they're the big local players. I got some stumper green teeth reds from a smaller outfit northish Toronto in an industrial unit. Sorry for that being a Sherlock Holmes clue. They were a well kept secret I told them after striking out at Vermeer and Vermeer not referring me to them.

edit - searched green teeth dealer, only one in Toronto, Alan Fyfe Equipment in Concord had to be where I went location approximately as I remembered
