Chestnut Oak Crane Removal

That's the first time I've ever had the gate entirely ripped off. I saw it break off but lost it. One of the groundies found it when raking up. The latch spring breaks all the time from use, but never a problem with the gate til then.
 
Even if the spring breaks, you should always have that backed up with a cotter pin through the gate and hook. This eliminates the need for a spring altogether and takes the risk of losing the gate out of the equation.
