Chest harness or saddle suspenders

Looking for good products or homemade ideas for a chest harness or suspenders to aid with my SRT ascents. Any advice or ideas are welcome. I have the treemotion super light and have heard the suspenders are not desireable.

When I first started climbing SRT I used a neck tether. I did not like it so, then I went with using my lanyard but, found out that while using it to hold me in a position I could not use it to tend my SRT hitch. Then I took a husky tool bag shoulder strap and that worked great for my climbing style. As a matter of fact, I'm still using it for SRT and have been since 2013! My New Tribe Onyx works very well with this type of set up.

Works well for me.

Look its a fall arrest system with a floating rope bridge! Has anyone used one of these?

They are on my Ergovation saddle & it is comfortable for a fat boy like me.

I'm sewing up something now for my TreeMotion. I'm having a rough time with it sliding down my butt when carrying a saw when I'm not suspended overhead. The waist belt is as tight as I can get it and still be able to buckle it.
So reason number 1 for this is to keep the saddle at my waist, but since I'm gonna have a suspender do-dad I might as well add a tending spot on it.
Pics to follow soon, probably tonight.

If you want beefy- retired treemotion leg pads can be converted. I’m playing around with a set now. Customizable, easy buckles, large area of distribution. Who knows, I might hate em in the field. Worth a shot.

I am a heavier climber and use and love my cheap suspenders. I also use a chest roller so I added a 2" strap to hold it in place and everything stays right where it's supposed when weighted full of gear. Got tired rather quickly with my saddle slipping down and getting uncomfortable!

What type of suspenders are you using? I was eyeballing some at Tractor Supply that have wide webbing and toothed clips to attach them to your pants (or harness).
These are the ones I have. However I have heavily modified them. Removed the pouch and have made the front legs fixed in length and added the webbing and buckle across the front for my chest roller.

and did I mention CHEAP!! Lol!!
Also my harness has the small d's to clip the suspenders too!

I wish someone would just sell chest rolling / harness suspenders, or demonstrate an easy DIY way to incorporate a home made chest roller into the suspenders.

This was a pretty easy mod to my suspenders to add my PMI chest roller. I sewed the webbing and buckle sections onto the existing shoulder straps. When I get up in the tree it's pretty easy to stow the roller on my saddle and the strap keeps the suspenders from sliding off the shoulder when climbing around the canopy!
I started out with the chest harness that onrope1 sells with the roller but it became way to much for me to bare! IMG-4395.webp

Looks like you are ready to play. I need a play day. Just got a RR this week. Couldn't pass up the deal Tree Stuff had on them.

For the time being I used a loop runner over my shoulder from the back anchor point on my saddle. Did a crane job this last week and added a prusik through the loop runner to hold the weight of the heavy saw. It wasn't pretty but it worked.58867
