could someone please reccomend the correct stihl saw i need for pruning. i have a ms310, but its a little heavy for small stuff in the tree. i am strictly a stihl man. hope that doesnt offend. no changing that! thanks for all your help.

A Stihl 192 or a 200t. If you are open to other brands, huskey 335xpt, or 338xpt. Good luck.

same saw different color, different factory, different day....

Don't care much for the orange or red bucket saws. I've owned 4 of the 33* series orange ones and sold them all.

Too many problems with carb icing and that stoopid spark plug cover popping off.

You haven't lived until on a hot, sweat soaked day you set the chain brake and rest the butt of the saw on the crease of your leg and pelvis only to find the da*ned plug cover has fallen off and you your sweat soaked pants provide a better route for the spark to travel than the plug.

192T is good. 200T is Great. Twice the money for some more power. Depends on the money available. 192T is a stepping stone to the 200T if you're in for the long hall.

If you're doing lots of removals, especially hardwood then the power will be appreciated, however if the saw if for removals and pruning, 192T is sufficient.

I've had the 192t for 1.75 years, did the job, looking for a 200T when the cash is there.

For pruning, I would recommend the 192. Especially if your using it for the "small stuff" like you said.

I combined the 192 with e-light bar and it helped my wrist pain to go away.

That's a reed valve saw, hollen, so it's gutless and slow to rev up, like the Echos, I'm sure. For ~$70 more $, the 192T is far more saw.

Neither of my 192T's are stock, as they are gutless in that form. At the least, open the muffler way up, and the saw will come alive...dang near cutting with a 338/200T in small wood.

My 2139T Jonsered (same as the 338 Husky) has all the bugs finally worked out, and is a cutting machine, with a dual port muffler. Will out cut 200T's all day long. Plug cover now has a screw to hold it in...chain brakes work reliably, the saws start and run well...just need to be choked to start after they've cooled a bit--kind of a pain. Over $200 cheaper than a 200T, and every bit as well built.
