Chainsaw pants

I want the Metallica shirt!

Do you get fined/fired for not being in your uni? I would wear mine anyway. That is until somebody told me not to, I'm kind of a wuss like that. I guess you have to try and sell your supervisor on the comfort factor.

uniforms should be restricted to company T-shirts/jackets and pants without holes in them; as long as all PPE requirements are met.

I just enquired about the Stretch air extreme pants from BC - they come in small medium etc. I have a 32" waist - they're small is 31" and the medium is 34". Should I go for the bigger waist or do these Stretch air actually stretch enough?? in a regular chainsaw pant I would opt for the bigger size but not sure what to do here - for $339.00 Canadian plus shipping to Ontario I want to be sure of the size . Any suggestions???

go for smalls. they changed all their sizing with the new range of stretch airs and its all screwed up. eveeryone i know is in a size down from what they usually take. im a 32" and wear the smalls, and theres plenty room in them

Once more please, just to clear this up for me...

Are the Pfanner, Stretch Airs that are sold in Sherrill (and marked non protective) chainsaw protective?

I'd been wearing SIPS 5.1 until the temperature here hit the 80's (with high humidity). My lower torso felt like it was in an oven.

Back to my lightweight Carhartts for now.

on treeworker.co.uk they have chainsaw protective stretchairs. So, they are made but not available here. For that kinda money they better be bulletproof! 2 yrs wear almost makes it worth the price.

Oops, my bad. I only found the stretchairs on Sherrill without protection. hmmmmmmm.... think I can convince the wife to get those for our 1st anniversary???

See if you can convince her to get them for you for the sake of safty. If she won't go for that... Maybe she was banking on you falling from a tree.
j/k, Congrats on the year.

She loves what I do just not the dangers. Since I live in Canada and she's lives in New Jersey that's the last thing she's banking on! LOL

I'm going to check out Northeastern Supply to see what they've got in pants. See you at the Open House on May 9th!

I did not have any luck getting ahold of the Pfanner rep in Canada, tried a few different times. A little lucky timing paid off for me getting a pair of Stretch Air protective pants from overseas.

So far, so good. The fabric is amazingly comfortable, everything seems to be really well thought-out. I'm not sure about the gaiters yet, I think maybe a zip-in system would work so you could take them out in summer.

During the first week that I wore them, we worked through a drenching rainstorm. I stayed pretty much dry and comfy as could be. Once the pant legs wet-out they dryed very quickly.

It still feels like I'm wearing chainsaw pants in the hot weather though.

The jury is still out on the price, so far they are worth it.

Unfortunately, Northeastern doesn't have enough demand for chainsaw protective pants to stock them. they've got chaps and that's it. Doesn't reflect well on the attitudes of local arborists.
