I’m not looking to distract from more important posts on this thread, but I was wondering if there is any Cela spider lift owners on here (like myself) in north American and especially Canada. I thought it could be beneficial connecting in order to discuss anything Cela related? I always find it helpful to chat with other owners!

How do you like your lift ? I only know of 1 company who runs a Cela in my area

Ok, well :) happy to share! And especially with you guys, as I’ve received sooo much great help from you, and others like you over the years!

Anyway, I haven’t really put that many hours on it really, I’d say less than 100? I’ll have to check the hour meter. But a few things that drew me to this lift is.
-they aren’t new to the lift space “cela” has a much bigger presence overseas than in North America, so they are proven to some degree at least theoretically
-good price point
-very, very light weight compared to working height, compared to similar lifts
-small compact size! Compared to other lifts once again. (Which means I can potentially get my loader and lift on the same 20 foot trailer and still be legal). This can mean one less vehicle required, and one less employee to drive a vehicle, less insurance etc cost savings potential $$$ (but full transparency I haven’t tried both on the trailer yet), I think that’s the main 3 that set it apart from the other big spider lift companies for me.

Personal experience:
Pros
-they feel surprisingly solid fully extended (all things considered)
-big basket (which can be a good and bad thing based on how you look at that), not sure it would be as good for pruning for example.
-simple to operate
-fairly fast boom movement especially if you use 3-4 functions at the same time (because they all work about the same speed regardless how many are used simultaneously)

Cons (although I think I need more time on the machine to give a fair review)
-very technical (I’ve heard they all are in reality! You just can’t get away from the fact that they all need to be considered what they are doing (putting a person up that height on uneven ground
-no fuel fill gauge (super stupid in my opinion!) not a big deal but seriously? Lol

Anyway that’s all I can think about at 1am in the morning. But I will do my best to answer questions and help people make a good decision if they are ever wondering

Thanks,
Ken
