Captain hook to the rescue!

Today I was in a really tall skinny fir tree, another tree that is marked for death was 25 feet away. I decided it would be a good idea to hang the top of the tree I was in, in the adjacent tree to reduce the chance of my tree failing and killing me. The other tree had not been limbed yet and was very likely to snag the top before we could lower it. Sure enough it snagged, so we took it off the lowering device and base tied it for later.
I pieced out the other tree until I reached the level of the stuck top. We put it back into the lowering device and I hooked the branch it was stuck in and snapped it off! perfect! the hook is doing what it is intended for.

These things are so handy! I recently rescued a neighbors drone! Lmao, never climbed the tree!
