Buckingham Rebellion??

I am looking to buy my first saddle. I had pretty much settled on a viking/ puma saddle. I then noticed the Rebellion with the rigging plates for a few $ more. The rigging plates seem to be an upgrade I see guys do to existing saddles. I just don't see much of any info on the Rebellion anywhere?? Not even on the Buckingham website? I am definitely looking to be under $300 as I will only be using it on a limited basis. Thanks

I have a ligered puma in really good condition if you're interested. I think the nice thing about the liger mod is that u have the big hole out to clip into.

Looks to me like this is a simplified version of the Ergo-Lite and/or Empire tree saddle, which I have been climbing on for the past two years.

The bones of all of these saddles, including the Rebellion, look essentially the same, with the Rebellion having an old style waist buckle as opposed to the newer style quick release buckles on the Ergo-Lite/Empire. Also, I think it has fewer gear loops. That would explain the cheaper price. I bet when you're sitting in the saddles, they all feel the same. And the rigging plate bridge is definitely a plus, making changing bridges frequently into a cheap and easy thing to do, which is good considering that the bridge is such a high-wear component.

All that to say, I'd say you're heading in the right direction if the price is right for you, because the "bones" of this saddle are well-made, comfortable, and durable.

Just my two cents...

i agree opposablethumb looks like a good cheap saddle if your looking for something to get started with for short $.
or you can be patient and wait for someone her to post a deal on a saddle.
