bucket truck down hill

i just joined and i thought i would post this. about a year age i was watching a company trim trees on a street near me. nobody was in the bucket and no one set the brake. the worker got out to start chipping branches and the truck started to to roll down the steep hill. every woker started franticly runing to the truck. about halfway down the hill the worker got into the truck and stoped it. just thought it would be a reminder to always set the brake. anyone else have something like this happen?

Park with the wheels turned and snubbed up to the curb. The truck should be parallel and close to the curb too.

Set the parking brake.

Use wheel chocks.

When I parked my chipper truck on the hill I used the truck chocks and the chipper was chocked too.

With a manual transmission I've heard that putting the truck in reverse helps. If the truck does start to roll the engine becomes an air compressor but it's unlikely to overcome the weight of the machine which acts like a brake.
