Buckingham Steel Insert Wrap Pads
Wanted a set of these for a long time, finally got around to buying a set, these are the Buckingham Steel Insert wrap pads, not the softies.
They are canted about fifteen degrees forward, and I have say they are hands down the most comfy cap I have ever climbed in. I have tried Caddie carps, big leather softies from 'Buck, and various other hard and soft caps over the years, and none of them came close to the tight fitting feeling of comfort that the SuperWraps give me.
Thursday I climbed all morning, and better part of the afternoon up and down pecker pole birch leaners, if there is a test of gaff comfort boys these are the trees, I could not believe the comfort, basically I didn't notice the gaffs. They don't shift around so you don't notice them at all.
If you are considering a new cap, seriously consider SuperWraps, try some out if you can, I think you'll be in for a treat.
Got my new saddle yesterday, Petzl Navaho Sit(damn they were out of sit fasts that have the quick connect buckles) in the mail, so look forward to trying it out this week as well, sooooooooo, soooooooo light. Was kinda bummed about the leg straps having no quick connects, but after trying the saddle on and feeling the light weight, I lost my concern, this thing will be getting worn from tree to tree it is so light and tight fitting, let you know how I make out.
have a good safe week.

Re: \'Buck Super Wrap pads.....etc.

Well its been two weeks of climbing basically all day long everyday, and the Super Wraps are JOB RATED, comnfort comfort comfort, all day long.
Also climbed this week all week in my brand new Petzl Navaho. Bit of a bummer in that it isnt the FAST version that has the leg buckles, but given the belt is so comfy I wear it literally all day long, removing the steel core and hand saw to make it safe to walk around and do saw work etc.....
For a saddle that cost 180.00 on sale, 200.00 regular, weighs a total of 2 lbs, and yet it still delivers a comfy work experience all day long with a MS 200 hanging off my hip all day, well... I am sold on that saddle.
While it is not as tuff as others, if I get a year or two(I think it'll last that long easy) out of it, it will have been a worthwhile investment.
Might look in to a Sequoia next, but the Navaho's is a decent, make that great, entry point climbing saddle ? Job Rated for sure.
Have fun gang, and stay safe.
