Hi gents,
I was working on splicing up a 1/2 lanyard in 16 strand. Going well until the whip lock.
I was pulling the needle through with visegrips. The eye bound up in the throat and broke off. So the eye of the needle is in the throat of the splice.
Should I cut off the splice and restart? Or is it ok with the broken bit of metal in the throat and I can just cut off the whip lock and move it down a bit? What would you do? Would you climb on it? Would you let someone else climb on it?
