Branch Manager/ Dave's alum. ramps for mini loader

Branch Manager/ Dave\'s alum. ramps for mini loader

i've been really happy w/ Dave's ramps (2000lb max.) They work great for loading mini loader into back of chipper!

That's gonna dull the blades!

Re: Branch Manager/ Dave\'s alum. ramps for mini loader

I found a deal on this chipper Used! the loader fits perfect in the back! made some racks to carry ramps where they're easy to reach.

Re: Branch Manager/ Dave\'s alum. ramps for mini loader

Looks very nice Mike! How do you strap the mini down?

Re: Branch Manager/ Dave\'s alum. ramps for mini loader

I wonder how long that rolled edge on the infeed table will hold up to the abuse of that mini bouncing on the table or will it be the stop on the machine that fails. Hey look on the bright side when the it does fail and the mini goes for a ride the strap will pull off the discharge chute and act as an anchor. /forum/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Hey Mike I am just pulling your leg, /forum/images/graemlins/flag_bs.gif
looks like american know how to me. Quick Eric put fresh film in your video camera.

Re: Branch Manager/ Dave\'s alum. ramps for mini loader

hey guys how's it going? i actually thought this out for a couple months before i just threw the thing on the back of my chipper. the feed table only holds about 30-40% of the weight. i've been setting crane picks that weigh about 4000 lbs. on the back of my bc1800 for almost a decade with no axle of feed table problems. this 2000xl has heavy dual axle option for grapple-arm type loaders (my mini loader weighs 1000 lbs. less) the new vemeer xl's have steel pins to help secure the feed table (so no real worries about the rolled edge giving out as jerseywild dreams of) i had "D" rings welded next to infeed to tie ratchet lg. straps and the slings around the discharge are just back-up. hey jerseywild, the base of the chute is actually strong enough to lift the chipper off the ground (please don't ask how i know that!) all in all the set up is working well & efficient.

Re: Branch Manager/ Dave\'s alum. ramps for mini lo

Mike
I have seen pictures of your equipment, I know how you found out that you could lift the chipper by the chute. Let me guess you had to change the tire. lol
I am glad to hear that you thought it through before you just started using the vermeer as a parking garage. I wouldn't want to see mike poor become poor mike. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Re: Branch Manager/ Dave\'s alum. ramps for mini lo

i'll use it a while longer before i recommend it. the set up seems really solid though (when you load the axles don't move. and it doesn't shift or bounce during interstate transport) i'll try to get a photo of the tie down points.

Re: Branch Manager/ Dave\'s alum. ramps for mini lo

Mike, What size Dingo is that...I just demoed a couple. What a job it does. I am leaning toward the larger one that wont fit thru a gate. I can usually lift it over w/ my crane.

Re: Branch Manager/ Dave\'s alum. ramps for mini lo

Wow good job Mike, she looks like a real nice fit. One less pickup and trailer on the road enjoy the fuel savings. You are ahead your time. /forum/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif
Now if we could get a 30 hp stump attach up on the tongue. /forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif

This brings up a question. Does your chipper need to be registered with plates? Mine doesnt but with the mini it is now a trailer and would require tags. A tree company near me got fined for a large tool box on the front of his that carried saws. DOT is heavy near me.

Re: Branch Manager/ Dave\'s alum. ramps for mini lo

For a tool box with saws? Prrricks. I have had a mini riding on my chipper for 3 years now, and been lucky no coppers have questioned it. I'm gonna have to get it registered and plated b4 my luck runs out.

knock on wood

Re: Branch Manager/ Dave\'s alum. ramps for mini lo

Wonder how this old Verdingo set up is working out and if anyone is still using it. I would like to try it but my worry is those exposed pistons hitting on the chipper chute..anybody got a long history with this. I have a bc 2000 and Dingo 525 tx.
