box elder bugs

Hey,
I live near a creek and my yard has a good amount of maples and ash (lots of box elders near the creek) and the yard is infested with box elder bugs. Some are even getting into the house and there are days when they will almost cover the entire garage door.

Have any of you found a solution that works besides physical removal? I'd really like a spray that would at least keep them away from the house, if not the entire property (about 2 acres).

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

About time to invite them in for the winter in your neck of the woods. You may be fighting a loosing battle on this one.

I agree with OOM. this is the time of year we start seeing them come indoors!

I'm sure if you wanted to spray or treat you could. Maybe your best bet is to treat the house with a persistent contact pesticide like they use here for cluster flies.

Something to check into.

Not to hijack the thread, but how is your ticker doing Rick? You've been on my mind a lot since your last episode.

Hey OOM, thanX for asking.

I lost a lot of heart function this time around. The apex is dead and the last round of echo pictures suggest another 15%-20% of the lower heart has had some necrosis.

What that translates into is the ejection fraction is at the bottom of the acceptable range.

Any more loss of heart function, well, we don't really want to dwell on what that would mean.

I've been given the green light for working to tolerance keeping in mind the coumadin creates certain risks I have to work around. Good news is I should be coming off the coumadin by November.

As we say in our house IIWII, it is what it is.

Meantime, just keeping on keeping on.

Now we're dealing with the psych stuff. Took longer to hit than the last few times but we're getting through it as well.

Spending a lot of retrospective and prayer time these days trying to sort out what is next on my life's path.
