Bought the cougar saddle

I wanted the TM of course but seen the weaver cougar on sale at treestuff so i bought it it fits very well looks nice, has moisture wicking easy on and off
and also has a bridge which my old saddle did not

so what I am wanting to know is about the rubber bumpers (4) on the bridge

How do you use those?

i run a hitch climber and attach with one or two biners just depends what im doing

and i will probably end up running a pulley as an attachment
any help would be appreciated

the rubber stoppers are to protect your hardware from contually rubbing against the saddle hardware. Instead of a pulley you might want to try one (or two) of these : DMM-28mm

if you like the cougar you will definatley like the this one more...Buckingham Glide Lite

good luck

dang man the viking/puma is a way better saddle the the cougar. same basic design yes but, there is clear rubber tubing over the gear loops and the harness has more accessory carabiner slots. it also has alot better side D rings and comes stock with a warp speed bridge.

thank you poet so just put 2 out to each side of the bridge?

and the cougar was 149 plus my discount and free shipping i didnt mind plunking that down for a bridge type saddle till i get enough side work to by a TM

i have some 28mm rings on my spliing station ill try that thanx brother

One thing you need to be aware of with the cougar is the bridge. There was a recent failure on the new bridges the grey with the black covering. One thing you might think about is swapping out for a warpspeed or similar replacement. Or if you were wanted the TM and want that same feel you might try the liger conversion.

true - a good deal is a good deal. after you climb in it for awhile if you get a chance to climb in the Glide Lite or TM you will appreciate some of the subtle but quality differences in the engineering. But it's a good start :)

peace,

matthew

the rope bridge recall was for red core bridges correct and that was the saddles made in 2010 then was the ring recall that US rigging brought to our attention the saddle i bought was made 2 months ago and has stamped isc rings and a black black bridge

Matt I hate to tell you this but there was a recent failure of the black on black bridge. It has not been brought to the main stream yet. There are pictures so in my opinion swap that thing out for peace of mind.

bought my cougar back in january, its got the grey/black bridge on it. i've been keeping a close watch on the bridge and am noticing some break down in grey fibers that girths around the rings. if the grey/black bridge becomes a recall will it be a free replacement? and what type of bridge will they replace it with?

Thing is, the way i look at it, why should we have to modify it?, ya know?

I have a few saddles, but they all sit now that I fly the treemotion, it really is all that and a bag of chips, with fish ;)

what is and where do i get or see the liger?

or what would be the right rope to use for a bridge?

I love the cougar wore it a few days now impressed feels like nothing on at all
i cant see the tm being 3x times better enough to be worth the money
