BOOM

Stihlmadd

Been here a while
"Nah, length was fine. People can skip ahead as needed. I think that is a good length personally."
Macswan.
okay its not like I never take liberties with the concept.

three day Euc removal , two days stripping out the fluff and a third day with the crane to remove all the large timber. went big from the get go. :sorprendido3:
watch in HD for full effect.
get comfy and supplied up with beverages and snacks, maybe hit the loo before starting would be a good idea.
cause this one is long baby, oh yeah. :D
release was delayed due to USA visit.
special thanks to Levi and the Rockett family for the most hospitable stay.(y)
and to the Powerscender.......:envidioso you want it!!!! :sisi:
cheers Ben.

Awesome vid Ben. All I kept thinking was they need a bigger chip truck. The crane pics were great. The operator seemed like he was moving the wood really slow.
yeah we keep telling him to upgrade but Staggie loves his old vermeer 6 inch chipper with the one feed roller and the f250 chip truck with the turning circle of a elephant troupe.
Scotty is a very deliberate operator and bear in mind if you tip the crane over here you loose your crane ticket for life , not happening with Scotty I 'd swear he loves that crane.
we were good for a conservative 8 tons at that position and max pick the last section came in at just over 6.
:D

looking good Ben! Good times hanging out at levi's house.
G'day Court, really good to hear from you.
had a genuine ball shooting the breeze and telling tall tree tales at Levi's round the camp fire.
We will have to make it down under to check out your set up.
look forward to setting you and Krieg (sic?) up in some big Eucs , my advice a tall man like yourself isnt made for an economy standard seating arrangement :envidioso I'd def consider spending a few more on a preferred seating arrangement.
thankyou for the great hospitality and the t-shirts came in handy explaining my journey to customs etc smoothed the passage through the checkpoints quite nicely please let the big fella know.(y)
cheers Ben

A+ with a gold star. Was having Madd withdrawals.

Did you shoot some video in the US?
thank you knothead, the vid failed to load just as I was leaving for the states so had to wait till I got back to sort it all out.
I did shoot some stuff and you will get to see my first full SRT climb with Ray Rockett instructor for the afternoon.
yep I finally did it and even got to use the bulldog bone - to be seen soon. :D
cheers Ben.

That was a big bugger eh? Loved the spider man crawl out on that long limb
Yes sir Macswan that was a very busy tree and kept everyone moving on that job, didn't see anyone idle and I hardly had time to smoke a ciggie during the job which is one of my indicators of how the day went.
Had a stellar pitch point for the whole job, in fact stripped nearly half the tree out on the way up to the pitch point on the first day , didn't even get there till late that afternoon :) nothing like rigging big from the get go.
cheers Ben.

Epic proportions on that one Ben. Really liked how you threaded those bits of fluff through the horns of timber. Nice rope work from the crew.

Still bummed I'm missed your US visit !

Thank you very much John, yes next time def go with the visiting the sister gag (y)
I canna tell a lie there was the last bit of fluff that did get jammed up and we hooked the land cruiser to the lowering rope to free the piece from the jam.( took up too much space in the vid so it was dropped to the edit floor).
It was a busy tree though, we went in at nearly thirty tons just in timber on that job, the truck driver expressed concerns about the load weight at the end but we sweet talked him into it :D
cheers Ben.

Good job Ben , a 3 days removal is something I've never done , I'm sure it's hard but I hope I will have the chance to do one like that, in a near futur. Good rigging as always , pleasure to watch. I also saw the trailer you have put on youtube.com and I really like the image , camera angle and the music fit just right!! Thanks for sharing with us

Ben, if you ever quit climbing you should be a writer. You come up with the funniest analogies I've ever heard! I still laugh to myself at your comment way back when about "as rare as rocking horse poop and just a valuable." Priceless...

Hey there :hola: , longest single takedown without wanting to boast or complain was 8 days, have done 5 and 6 day takedowns but anything over 5 days is rare.
I left a rigging slip up in the vid for you all to see , deformed the edge of my ally toe cap in my right boot with that error of judgement but bear in mind the boys laid it out at roughly 50 feet of tree so there was a whole lot of energy happening.
haven't smashed a go pro yet but I am getting closer :D
appreciate the props and positive comments,
cheers Ben.

thankyou Jeff and I am glad to know that you took that comment the way I intended it to be received , some of the strine and associated local sayings don't always translate over as well as I might like.
collecting and creating analogies is one of my hobbies,
I may turn to writing when all the fun is over and it is just me and my shagged out rotor cuffs to call my own.
there is still one more massive mega waffle still in the wings but probably not this week.
cheers Ben.

You did that intentionally... so we'd all have to go back and watch the whole damn thing again . But I found it... doesn't look like much at first. Thanks for letting us know you're human (or nearly so ;))... shagged out rotor cuffs and all.
