Wow, that’s a lot of fires! Give that little bandsaw a try. No sparks, no kickback, it’s designed for one handed use, and it’s much quieter than a grinder too.We use the same in tree. We can’t do it in summer though, get caught throwing sparks into our tinder box landscape and we’d be summarily executed. View attachment 83572
You definitely have a point. Did some wildfire work back in the day.We use the same in tree. We can’t do it in summer though, get caught throwing sparks into our tinder box landscape and we’d be summarily executed. View attachment 83572
I tried those but found much cleaner cuts with the angle grinder - which is what we use now. Also works great on threaded rod for bracing. Bandsaw would certainly be intriguing with fewer sparks. There are one handed reciprocating saws that work. Battery powered of course. Endless choices for cutting blades…toothed, abrasive and carbide tipped

Heard fireworks Saturday night, I was flipping my shit.. this was the evening to the day of ash raining down on the islandWe use the same in tree. We can’t do it in summer though, get caught throwing sparks into our tinder box landscape and we’d be summarily executed. View attachment 83572
For you guys using angle grinders, I recommend trying one if the diamond edged steel wheels, safer since it's not likely to blow up on you, cuts faster and you can do pretty well using it for light grinding as well. I have one of these and the Diablo I think I like the ridgid better.
