Bolt/ Cable cutters

Wondering what everyone's preference is for bolt/ cable cutters for cutting 5/16" EHS cable and smaller. We've tried expensive ones, cheap ones and everything in between. Nothing seems to last. What's your preference?

There are one handed reciprocating saws that work. Battery powered of course. Endless choices for cutting blades…toothed, abrasive and carbide tipped
I tried those but found much cleaner cuts with the angle grinder - which is what we use now. Also works great on threaded rod for bracing. Bandsaw would certainly be intriguing with fewer sparks.

I use a milwaukee 5" band saw for threaded rod. It is overkill but works great because it does not have potential to kick very hard. The smaller-mouthed one is almost assuredly better.

For cable I use the angle grinder after taping the cable. I cut through the tape. It's a very clean cut.

My only problem on cable is that I use ENDZ terminations and the stopper does not play nice with the ever-so-slightly melted/peened center strand, which is often melted to adjacent strands and/or peened, preventing the ENDZ stopper from setting on the middle strand. The stopper teeth are gracile and deform easily, preventing them from seating on thread that is not deformed, so I have to buy extra. I'm not sure if other terminations have a similar issue.

From the metalworking side of things, the finest teeth, sharpest possible and the least cutting pressure creates the smallest flash at the edge of a cut. Of course no high temp deformation doing that way. Same principle sharpening a chain.

For you guys using angle grinders, I recommend trying one if the diamond edged steel wheels, safer since it's not likely to blow up on you, cuts faster and you can do pretty well using it for light grinding as well. I have one of these and the Diablo I think I like the ridgid better.

Just to advocate for the devil, would a steel wheel be worse if it did fall apart while working? With the normal wheels, I feel like they are light enough to not come flying through my helmet mesh guard and my safety glasses.
