Re: Beedub and the boys\' island shenanigans

Nice job do you have more details on that job how much pull did it take? why did you stand it right again instead of removal? do you think it will reroot successfully?

Re: Beedub and the boys\' island shenanigans

I've been telling people we can't do resurrections for a mostly dead tree. It turns out it is possible. Too cool.

Re: Beedub and the boys\' island shenanigans

somebody loves their trees!

intensive care! Awesome job.. Let us know how the tree makes out...

I would have given the $$$ to the Hunger Project... could have saved lives...

The pine looks like it is in lousy shape compared to surrounding pines towards the end of the video. Georgian Bay location?
Winched upright (and subsequently felled)a large wind thrown hemlock this fall (also an island job). Couldn't believe how rigging intense the job was, and the amount of rope required.

2x 5ton chain hoists,( one to pull one to hold while the other was repositioned) rigged 2:1 with 16k 16x9cable. 4 ganged rock anchors per hoist.
There was enough of the root system intact to make it worth the attempt. It will never support its self again.
I forgot to add in the 2 man crew for a day to install the lightning protection.
As far as I know, a topsoil blower truck was barged over to fill the voids after the "resurrection".

I would have given the $$$ to my wallet. It would have been an extra 50% on my salary.

Re: Beedub and the boys\' island shenanigans

We're the new guy wires visible from the main house? I would think that would be visual pollution in a place like that.

Re: Beedub and the boys\' island shenanigans

Some things don't add up but it's their island, their tree, their money. Who are we to miss an opportunity like that?
