Be Brave when interviewing in this economy

Have you ever heard of the term leveraging credit? Well if not turn on any media source.

If a potential employer is boasting about how much they average annually, dig deeper.

Assets are things that have been PAID FOR in my book.

Do you operate on a cash basis?

Are your books seperate from your families bank account?

Who does your accounting?

Are you all curb appeal or do you have a clue?

I really don't think this post will get any legs, I was just reflecting on some of the posts for job listings.

Yes, it's important to interview the company and be sure they are financially sound.

Assets are anything item of value. It usually has an associated liability though that shows what it's real value is.

Wow, I didn't think I would get a response. In reality, a companies financials and their management of money is second right behind safety. Ethics and work environment are much easier to improve on the fly. Some may say that that is a slippery area to be in during an interview. Your future employer may be the ultimate used lemon shiester salesman and have more bills than he can pay, or not even have the ability to wrtie you a paycheck because he dosen't have the checkbook! I say it dosen't hurt to ask!

Thanks for posting this Pancake; it looks like I'll be heading into the job market soon after graduation and these are important things to keep in mind. The interview is for both the potential employee and employer.

What type of position are you considering. Man, leaving paradise. Are you nervous in this economy to be looking, or considering it? How is the economy on the island?
