Basic winching system

We are all used to grabbing blocks and strong rope to make a mechanical advantage system to pull various things.

This is a simple system that could be emulated:

Oh those Russians. That was alot of power. I've been marvelling at all the homemade tracked vehicle made out of lawnmowers videos they build just for fun.

In my early days i pulled a fairly large elm over
with endless loop from around the tree to around another tree and a long stick. Twist away and sweat it.

Pick me. I'd think that would be one of the coolest things I've ever done even if all I did was be the mule. There's a bunch of ways to make a frozen lake work for you. Never thought of that one. Could be life and death in my frozen world to know all the tricks. Life becomes very fragile below -30.
