Bandit Chipper possible options - and why.

Anyone tempted to drag through sensitive areas might want to look up the (Slidder?). A thin plastic mat made to stack on and drag things around. A

client bought one to drag things behind his garden tractor. It almost looks like an item I could use at times.
Yeah they work great. I worked with one that was homemade out of thick conveyor belts bolted together with carriage bolts. On the business end it was bolted to a heavy length of angle iron with eyes welded for attachment points.

We have had a 19XPC with the Deere 173-HP diesel in our rental fleet for 1.5 years. We had some issues with DEF/DPF-related codes in the first few months. The first time it was resolved by replacing a failed sensor (I believe the upstream aftertreatment oxygen sensor). The second time the engine wire harness had to be replaced; it was damaged from having been routed too close to the exhaust or some other hot part. The local John Deere dealer did both of these repairs under warranty, with a week or two of downtime each time.

I believe I reported on this forum about our experience with the Cat C4.4 that we had in our previous 19XPC. Also had aftertreatment-related codes, but months of downtime while the local dealer and Bandit and Cat pushed back and forth saying it was in the other party's court. Fiasco.

So in our experience the Deere is clearly the winner, but the next guy's results might vary.
Thank you for sharing your experience!
I had tough little 2001 bandit 200+ model powered by John Deere 115hp that motor was amazing and the chipper ate well. Nothing runs like a Deere they say haha.
I’ll be talking with my dealer about that 173hp in a 19xp.. it sounds like that has been good for you among others I’ve spoken with as a good option
