Bandit 65aw battery not charging

Hello was wondering if anybody can help.. got a 2004 bandit 65aw with a honda gx-670 and the battery keep going dead on me, found that the battery is not getting a charge when engine is running, not really sure where to go next? I guess these things have a stator and rectifier?
thanks

Both a stator and a rectifier on those small engines. Relatively cheap to buy. Just replaced both on my Kohler and it was an hour and a half project. But found where all the dust had caked in around the housings, cleaned it all up and the whole thing runs better (able to cool off now).

Jacks has a great parts look up (if you have all the engine info) and they are pretty quick on the delivery of the parts.
You will need a normal mechanics set for nuts, bolts and screws and a flywheel puller and of course a hammer!
Good luck!

not sure how to get to the stator on this thing, gotta test the rectifier, maybe ill get lucky and not have to change the stator, gotta do some snooping around how to do that..
thanks

The stator is behind the flywheel. To get to it you need to take the screens and cowling off the flywheel side. Once you have the wheel exposed a flywheel puller is a must. Install on a couple bolts in the face of the wheel or behind the back of it (take nut off first), tighten it up and love tap the hex on the puller it will pop off. And the stator should be right there.

soo looks like I'm getting 30 plus a/c volts coming out of the stator so I'm guessing it is the rectifier, trying to find which one i need (no part # on the old one) and not sure if the newer style (gx-690) will work? can't seem to find the one for the gx-670?
