Ban on light bulbs

I consider myself to be a conservationist, not an eco-friendly nut job but we have some nut jobs on capitol hill they want to outlaw all incadesnat (sorry about the spelling) lightbulbs by 2014, because they use too much energy. I say lets come up with a solution before we start a problem because the energy efficient lighbulbs are not the answer either they have gas in them that is bad for the enviorment. Taking care of the enviorment is very important and sometimes taking eco-friendly nazism too far will come around and bite you in the butt. We need to be stewards of our enviorment and not take it to the extreme anytime anything is taken to the extreme one way or the other it always ends up not good.

Sounds like good lobbying to me. I'm sure the manufacturers don't want to maintain two different processes if they can rig it.

CFs are a good idea though. I use'em.

What a of crock of shite. CFs dont light nearly as well, they HARDLY work in temps below 30 degrees, and they are a pain to properly dispose of. If people were just more conservative the energy saved could be the same.

I agree that CFs dont light as well as regular lights, I can certainly tell in the lights in my kitchen plus like tophopper said the are a great source for mecury. Might have to look up what they have for LEDs.
