bad back

i have been climbing with a very sore back the past few weeks. i decided to push through it and keep working without getting myself checked out.

bad idea

the other day i was working in a very hollow hickory tree with the bucket. The yard had 6 cable and telephone lines running through it. i rigged all that i could then resorted to snap cuts and throwing the pieces between the lines. Everything was going great, i was about 8 cuts into the snap cut process when finally i felt something go in my back.

the piece dropped out of my hand, luckily avoiding the cable lines. i came down for a break to figure out what was going on. my back hurt like hell but i wanted to finish the job. i pushed through, got the tree down to a safe dropping height and my boss made an appointment for me at the chiropractor.

i went to the chiropractor, i have moderate to severe alignment problems and a pinched nerve and was given a prescription for muscle relaxers.

doctor said that had i taken action when i first felt the soreness i wouldn't have had any problems. i am now on a 6 week chiropractic treatment, along with muscle relaxers and im not supposed to pick anything up over 20 pounds for the next week. awesome

have any of you ever tried to climb on muscle relaxers? i feel a bit doped up but today is the first day i started to take them. Will i get used to them?

moral of the story, a chiropractors visit costs 20 bucks and is worth every penny. if you feel soreness, go get checked out before it costs you more in the long run

also, the chiropractor doesn't do table baths. i found that out the hard way
