Average climber wage ontario?

Can’t say for sure, but it’s a small bridge separating Niagara Falls, NY from Niagara Falls, Ontario and depending on ability and dependability, a newer climber in Falls, NY will probably get around 20$ US an hour or 25-26$ in CA dollars.
Give or take a buck or two, and highly dependent on experience and ability. Someone who has been production climbing a few dozen hours every week for a year is likely gonna be light years ahead of someone who’s been doing it 3 years but only a few hours here and there.

Based off saying you're trained, I'm assuming you graduated Fleming or Humber?

As a first year guy I wouldn't expect much to start as employers will want to feel you out. Being trained and being efficient are vastly different. If you crack $20 in your first year I would be surprised. Odds are you'll be on the ground a lot to begin and therefore would make groundie pay.

You need to prove yourself and it's not the time to be modest or humble. Tell your boss you're willing to tackle any climb and let him decide which ones he'll give you.

That ain't happenin'. We're a severely undervalued industry in Canada. I know top climbers barely making $26/hr up here. Average starting climber wage in my region is $16-$18 and tops out around $28-$30.

No, I'm in the Maritimes, which has the lowest wages, highest taxes, and bleakest career opportunities of any region in Canada.

I was basing my assumptions off a few guys I know climbing in Ontario and my own personal experiences working there 8 years ago.

I am in my second year of tree work and beginning to climb some more now that I've finished school. I just got a raise this year so I am in the 20$-22$ with no DZ license.

That’s in the ballpark for this area too. Maybe a couple dollars low, but only a couple. We try to pay better than most, but there’s so many other companies in the area, we can only pay so much and still win bids.
