Auto feed issues in my Woodsman 15x

I have the autofeed set at 2200 rpm but it doesn’t kick in until way late. Like around 1200. I watched the digital tach when it was fed and it doesn’t drop below 2400. I don’t know if the magnetic pickup is wonky or what.

I inspected the Bell housing and I don’t see any wires connected to the pickup. I think it goes off the engine computer for rpms. Any insight would hep

I ended up resetting the kick in high to a higher rpm and the low to a higher rpm and it works better now.

Does anyone know if the hydraulic fluid delays the autofeed kick in if it’s thick and cold?

It might be getting it's tach signal from the alternator, most generally it is the white wire coming from the tach. The hydraulic oil shouldn't affect the autofeed whether it is warm or cold. If you have any more problems call 989-772-8818 and ask for Paul, he has forgotten more about Woodsman chippers than most will ever know!
