Arm chaps: lame or awesome?

I had an unfortunate incident with a 6 inch honeylocust thorn... sat right on it... 3 inch deep punture wound to the buttocks makes for a lot of pain, suffering, and torment from the co-workers.

I just gave myself the chills, eek, I'm gonna go drink a beer to get that memory out of my head.

ive never seen a big one around my parts. i have one in my living room. if it gets too big i think ill just kill it rather then worry about having to climb one some day.

Anyone else ever prune a Monkey Puzzle? That was the worst I ever had to deal with.

I've only removed a big declining one. The whole tree was browning out, not just the bottom, turning into an umbrella shape.

I think a full on leather jacket would have been called for on that prune.

I've taken out two Monkey puzzles over the years, only about 45 or 50 ft. got a few minor scrapes but we cheated with a bucket and bobcat. Did not realize how heavy this tree is.
